The School of Health and Care Professions, within the Faculty of Science and Health at the University of Portsmouth, is seeking to appoint outstanding and talented people to support delivery of our pre-registration nursing curriculum, with the potential to contribute to postgraduate education and innovation. The School has a clear vision for the future nurse and to achieve this, our use of simulation within pre-registration nursing programmes is exceptional.

We are seeking Teaching Fellows/Senior Teaching Fellows, to contribute to teaching excellence and innovation in nursing. It would be positive if you have subject knowledge in specialist or advanced clinical practice. The successful candidates will be able to effectively articulate their contribution to improving effective and safe person-centred care in our undergraduate and postgraduate curricula. These are full time roles which will include classroom and simulation based teaching and assessment.

We encourage applications from those with specialist interest in one or more of the following:

• Nursing care and management of specialist patients groups
• Biosciences, physiology, pathophysiology or pharmacology

A commitment to the provision of a high-quality, student focused educational experience is important. Evidence of ongoing professional development supporting contemporary healthcare practice is also key.

We welcome and actively encourage informal visits to discuss the post and to see the simulation facilities for nurse education. To arrange this, please contact Dr Isobel Ryder, Programme lead for nursing: isobel.ryder@port.ac.uk
