Salary: UH8 – £40,322 pa (pro rata) to £51,034 pa (pro rata) dependent on skills and experience.
Location: College Lane Campus, Hatfield, University of Hertfordshire

The School of Health and Social Work are seeking to enhance our team providing successful BABCP accredited programmes by recruiting a suitably qualified senior lecturer on a part time basis.

Main duties & responsibilities

You will work within the mental health team of the Department of Nursing, Health & Wellbeing, to undertake planning, teaching, assessment and evaluation of programmes of learning related to CBT (and to teach on other appropriate programmes as required).

You will be expected to engage in scholarly and research activity, promote and maintain the policy of equal opportunities and participate in other academic activities within the School and University. You will be required to teach and develop the curriculum within designated modules and have the potential to contribute to our short courses. You will perform administrative and quality assurance duties and will contribute to the Programme Development teams, examination boards and the monitoring and review panels as appropriate. In addition to this you will represent CBT/mental health both locally and nationally and will contribute to departmental activities and national networks.

Skills and experience needed

You will have substantial proven experience in delivering high quality CBT approaches and have experience of providing supervision related to CBT practice. You will also have a record of publication and/or engagement in research or consultancy work. You will have complex interpersonal skills, particularly in written and verbal communication. You will also have a high standard of negotiation and facilitation skills.

Qualifications required

You will hold a degree and Masters (or equivalent) in a subject relevant to mental health. You will also be registered with NMC or other similar professional, statutory and regulatory body and will be accredited with BABCP as a psychotherapist.
