Birmingham City University is a large and diverse place to work right in the heart of the West Midlands and we currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lecturer to join the Department of Mental Health and Learning Disabilities within the Faculty of Health, Education and Life Sciences. This particular role will suit experienced mental health nursing academics looking to develop their course leadership skills.
You will be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council as a Level 1 Mental Health Nurse and hold a degree in Mental Health Nursing or suitable equivalent. Additionally, you will be holding or working towards a higher degree in a relevant subject.
If successful, you will be become part of the BSc (Hons) Nursing course management team, having oversight of the student experience and successful progression of our mental health nursing students.
You will also be expected to support and develop a range of teaching and learning activities across all of our pre-registration nursing courses, including the BSc (Hons) Nursing and our MSci (Nursing) integrated masters course (subject to approval).
Our BSc (Hons) Nursing and Trainee Nurse Associate courses have been approved under the current NMC standards for nurse education, and we are currently working on a new curriculum to meet the Future Nurse standards.
