An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Professional Lead, Midwifery within the Department of Allied Health Professions and Midwifery, School of Health and Social Work. The post holder will be responsible for providing professional leadership ranging from curricula content to strategic directions for the midwifery profession and maintaining and enhancing strong partnerships with local providers and professional and regulatory body. The post holder will also provide academic management of their subject group.

You will be an experienced midwife registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) with experience of teaching in the higher education sector. Previous management and leadership experience is desirable. You will have a Masters degree and ideally a doctorate or be working towards completion of a doctoral programme. You will have a sound knowledge of research and experience of developing innovative ways of delivering our curricula.

This post also includes the role of the Lead Midwife Education (LME). This is a statutory role.
