Duties of the Role
We are seeking to appoint a Practice Educator to prepare the Speech & Language Therapy students for, and support them whilst on practice placements. This new post within the University reflects our focus on high quality and transformational learning that equips our students for a post-qualified career in Speech and Language Therapy. In recognition of the significant importance that practice based learning can have on a student’s achievement, this post has been created to provide a consistent and skilled source of support to students and their educators through close partnership working with placement providers.

The successful applicant will need to demonstrate the ability to support, assess and evaluate students on the Speech and language Therapy programmes and through excellent communication skills will provide support, practice-based skills teaching and clarification to learning.

Skills and qualifications required
Applicants must have a speech and language therapy background with recent practice experience and have a commitment to developing the adult learner and student speech and language therapist. Applicants must be flexible to meet with students in the workplace which operate different working patterns and meetings may occur outside normal office hours.
