We are seeking an outstanding and inspiring member of staff to join our successful and highly committed team in delivering the Pre-Registration Midwifery programme.
The BSc Midwifery curriculum utilises an enquiry based learning model and seeks to develop critical, competent and compassionate practitioners who can make a positive contribution towards and impact upon midwifery practice.
The Institute works in collaboration with trust partners to ensure future practitioners are fit for purpose. The Institute is committed to inter-professional learning and engagement of service users in the curriculum. The University of Worcester enjoys a strategic partnership with the National Childbirth Trust and is committed to developing a unique portfolio of courses in relation to the antenatal, perinatal and parenting agenda.
The post holder will be expected to teach and lead agreed modules, assess students, supervise undergraduate research studies, engage in curriculum development, participate in scholarly activity and contribute to the administrative work of the department and Institute.
In collaboration with the LME, the post holder will be required to lead the development of post registration CPD for Midwifery within the University.
Staff within the academic unit contribute to the Nursing and Midwifery Council approved undergraduate degree programmes and it is essential that the appointee is able to adopt a flexible approach to the subjects they teach.
The quality of the midwifery programme is confirmed by the NMC having recently achieved the met standard across all 5 key risk areas. In addition, the department has successfully completed the Stage 1 assessment of Unicef UK Baby Friendly Initiative.
Short-listed candidates invited to interview will be asked to deliver a ten-minute teaching session to a group of midwifery students.
The Chair of this group will provide feedback on the teaching session to the interview panel.
