The Role
Forward-looking and innovative, join our dynamic School of Nursing and contribute to the development of the nursing and healthcare workforce. In this role you will strive to enhance the reputation of our School of Nursing in the area of non-medical prescribing and autonomous practice. Articulate and well respected, you will teach on nursing programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, taking the lead on modules where appropriate. You will have the ability to inspire our students and will have a keen interest in developing post-qualifying education. Alongside being involved in the pastoral care of students, you will be encouraged and supported to further your interests in scholarship or professional practice.
The Person
You will be a well-qualified nurse lecturer or practice educator. Alternatively, you may be an experienced nurse practitioner keen to pursue a career in higher education. You will have a high level of clinical competence and credibility and will hold the V300 qualification with current prescribing practice. You’ll have experience of managing care autonomously and will have a background in either general practice, acute care or community practice. Whatever your background, you’ll have NMC registration and a Master’s degree in the field of nursing/healthcare (or be working towards this). A teaching qualification is desirable but not essential as the Faculty supports new staff members to gain an appropriate teaching qualification.
