The School of Health Sciences and Social Work, University of Portsmouth, is expanding its pre-registration provision to meet the increased demand for adult nurses and is intending to commence a pre-registration Adult Nursing programme in February 2017, with an initial intake of 110 students.
The School has an ambitious vision for the future; to help us achieve it we are seeking a number of Lecturers/Senior Lecturers in Adult Nursing to contribute to teaching excellence related to the nursing care of adults and research in the clinical environment. The successful candidates will be Adult Nurses who are passionate about education, research and innovation and who can effectively articulate their contribution to delivering high quality services. We encourage applications from those with specialist interest in one or more of the following: medical nursing, acute and chronic conditions, community care, older person’s health, mental health.
You will contribute to the academic and clinical development of Adult Nursing. This will include the development and delivery of undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare programmes. For these four roles, you should possess appropriate professional qualifications, registration on Sub Part 1 of the NMC register is essential, relevant post registration experience as an Adult Nurse, a Degree in health or a related subject, relevant post graduate qualifications and an NMC recorded teaching qualification (or be willing to work to achieve these). You will be required to undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
The successful applicant will be appointed on the Lecturer/Senior Lecturer scale in accordance with qualifications and experience.
