Lecturer in Paramedic Practice

Opening Date:
21 Aug 2019
Closing Date:
4 Sep 2019
Salary Range:

The Department of Allied Health professionals is looking for a lecturer to join our team of dedicated paramedics and ECP lecturers, working within our new high-tech teaching facilities including a practice skills suite and high-fidelity clinical simulation equipment.

You will contribute to the new BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science, the BSc Enhanced Pre-Hospital Care and the MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, as well as interprofessional elements across the Faculty. You will be involved in all aspects of teaching including preparation, tuition, assessment and supporting students in placements – as well as undertaking academic administration duties required for course delivery.

As a registered practitioner, you will combine clinical experience and well developed and current knowledge and understanding of critical, practical and theoretical issues relevant to paramedic practice with the ability to challenge, motivate and inspire learners. Evidence of ongoing professional development is also essential.

In return we offer an exciting environment that will give you the opportunity to be at the forefront of the development of the profession as well as getting involved in wider faculty projects and research.

If you are offered this post you will be subject to an enhanced with barred lists check by the Disclosure and Barring Service. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent you from working at Sheffield Hallam University but its relevance to the duties of the post will need to be assessed before the appointment is confirmed.

For this job we particularly welcome applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) applicants as we are underrepresented in this area.

We welcome applications for job-share, part-time and flexible working arrangements
