The Physiotherapy Department of the School of Population Health and Environmental Sciences in the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine, King’s College London, is seeking to appoint an external examiner for our BSc Physiotherapy programme, from September 2019.

We welcome expression of interest from experienced academics who are committed to supporting excellent learning and assessment processes. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from those with considerable experience of delivering pre-registration undergraduate Physiotherapy education, quality assurance processes and contemporary evidence-based practice.

The role of External Examiner is to assure the quality of awards with respect to national standards. Key duties include:

  • Advising boards of examiners on the content and standard of assessment
  • Moderating samples of exam scripts and other assessed materials
  • Attending boards of examiners to approve awards and degree classifications
  • Advising on academic misconduct and appeal cases
  • Submitting an annual report to the College Principal
