The School of Sport and Exercise at the University of Birmingham is seeking to appoint an external examiner for their new MSc Advancing Physiotherapy Practice programme. This programme offers both non-clinical/clinical pathways and will run alongside other established taught post-graduate courses offered in the school. They may also be required to examine some of the shared modules core to our programmes.

The MSc Advancing Physiotherapy Practice offers individual physiotherapists the opportunity to identify their learning and developmental needs across a variety of professional roles they occupy within the workplace and select an appropriate programme of study. Students can opt to complete either a practice-based module as part of their clinical/work base development or an alternative non-clinical module complement. The programme will commence in September 2016 and is open to home / EU and international students

The post holder will be required to:

  • Review and approve coursework assignments
  • Complete external examination and moderation of non-clinical and clinical assessments
  • Quality assure the standards of student performance
  • Confirm the examination / assessment process is fair and just
  • Attend the Board of Examiners and provide an annual report to the University of Birmingham

Applications are welcomed from all suitably qualified personnel with relevant educational and professional experience – this would include membership with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) UK.

The appointee will normally serve for a period of four years
