External Examiner for MA Medical Education
The University of Bedfordshire, School of Nursing and Health Education is seeking to appoint an external examiner to the MA Dental Education course.
This is a part-time course which extends over a period of three academic years. The course has a unique focus on the development of dental educators and the teams they support and lead with a clear emphasis on developing knowledgeable practice. It appeals to both those who are still relatively inexperienced educators/trainers and those who wish to develop their learning in this area in anticipation of assuming greater responsibility for teaching and training in the future. The course combines study days with supported online learning and self-directed study.
We are keen to recruit someone who has either expertise in Medical/Dental Education or experience of delivering such a course. Whilst external examiner experience is desirable, we also welcome expressions of interest from individuals new to this role. The successful candidate will be offered an induction programme and will be supported throughout the duration of their tenure.
You will be asked to attend approximately 3 academic boards per year. The specific remit includes review of units at academic levels 7 including the dissertation unit contributing to the above award.
The term of office for the successful candidate will be for a period of 4 years from September 2021.
