External Examiner for Pre-AMHP Foundation and AMHP training programme

The School of Health and Social Work is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for the Postgraduate Certificate courses leading to warranting as Approved Mental Health Professional. The University offers a short Pre-AMHP Foundation course following which many students proceed to the full AMHP course.

There are two short and two full courses each academic year.

The University of Hertfordshire holds an induction event for all new External Examiners to support your transition into the role and knowledge of our regulations.

We are seeking an Examiner, experienced in delivering social work education and who can work with us to continue to develop and enhance the quality of our teaching and learning within our Programmes. It is preferable that the Examiner is or has been an AMHP practitioner.

We would like to appoint to the role as from September 2019. The appointment will be for three years.

You will be required as part of your role:

  • To attend Examination Boards.
  • To submit the annual External Examiner’s Report at the end of the year.
  • To review and report on coursework and examination scripts as appropriate.
