External Examiner – Flexible Learning Programme

We are seeking a replacement external examiner from the academic year 2019/20 for the Flexible Learning provision in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Continuing Professional Education courses/modules. This includes Work-based learning within the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice as well as Clinical Practice degrees. In addition the role will include the Recognising and Accreditation of Work Related Learning (RAWL) module for bespoke learning programmes delivered in industry. The University of Brighton offers extensive support for external examiners and holds annual workshops. Further support is provided by course/module leads and the Continuing and Postgraduate Education Academic Programme lead. The University normally expects external examiners to attend a minimum of one examination board per year.

Applicants are advised that the University applies the following criteria to external examiners:

  • The area of expertise of external examiners is within the area of examinations undertaken;
  • Applicants should have recently been employed (or are still employed) within a university appointment;
  • He/she must not have been a University of Brighton examiner within the last five years;

One External Examiner is required for:

Flexible Learning provision in the U/G and P/G Continuing Professional Education courses/modules.
