External Examiner – Continuing Professional Development courses

External examiner required for a range of continuing professional development courses contributing to our UG and
PG awards for Nursing, Advanced Clinical Practice, and Service Improvement. The external examiner will be expected to monitor the quality of the coursework across the modules and courses noted below:

  • 7HW079 Advancing Clinical Nursing Practice Portfolio
  • 7NH015 Health Assessment for Advanced Clinical Practice
  • 7NH016 Clinical Reasoning for Advanced Clinical Practice
  • 7NH017 The Essence of Nursing
  • BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care Practice (Top up)
  • Diploma of Higher Education Health and Social Care Practice
  •  MSc/ MA Mental Health
  • Return to Nursing Practice
  • BSc Nursing Studies (Top up)
  • Diploma of Higher Education Nursing Studies
  • BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies (Top up)
  • MSc Nursing
  • Postgraduate Diploma Advanced Clinical Practice
  • Postgraduate Certificate Nursing
  • Postgraduate Certificate Service Improvement
  • PG Cert and MSc Advanced Practice for Allied Health Professionals (Diabetology)
  • PG Cert and MSc Advanced Practice for Allied Health Professionals (Musculoskeletal Disorders)
  • Postgraduate Certificate and MSc Commissioning for Health and Social Care

We are seeking candidates whose areas of expertise would enable him or her to monitor the quality of these courses and externally moderate assessed work. External examiners are required to attend at least one assessment board a year and complete an annual report. External examiners are also required to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules within their area of expertise.

The post is for an initial period of 4 years, starting in academic year 2017-18.
