The Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Health is seeking to appoint a new External Examiner for the following International Collaborative Ventures/Franchise Partnership Programmes:

BSc (Hons) Registered Nurse Programme (Malta)

2021/22 is the final outgoing year of the programme and consists of five modules (level 6):

  • NS0606 – Practice Learning 5: Clinical decision making in clinical practice
  • NS0607 – Leading & Improving Nursing Practice
  • NS0608 – Practice Learning 6: Internship
  • NS0609 – Foundations of Teaching and Assessing in Nursing Practice
  • NS0610 – Nursing Dissertation

BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies Joint Degree Programme (Malta)

2021/22 is the first level 5 delivery of the programme.

  • NS0530 – Applied health and life sciences
  • NS0531 – Developing and applying knowledge and skills for nursing care
  • NS0532 – Evidenced based nursing
  • NS0533 – Values & principles for nursing people across their lifespan
  • NS0534 – Practice learning 2

From 2022/23 the programme will deliver the following level 5 and 6 modules:

  • NS0530 – Applied health and life sciences
  • NS0531 – Developing and applying knowledge and skills for nursing care
  • NS0532 – Evidenced based nursing
  • NS0533 – Values & principles for nursing people across their lifespan
  • NS0534 – Practice learning 2
  • NS0627 – Foundation of teaching and assessing in nursing practice
  • NS0628 – Leading & improving nursing practice
  • NS0629 – Nursing Dissertation
  • NS0630 – Practice learning 3

The external examiner will be responsible for contributing to the quality assurance of these programmes. You will be involved in the approval of assessment tasks, moderation of student work, completion of an annual report and will be invited to attend examination boards. You may be asked to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules.

Applicants should hold appropriate professional registration and academic qualifications. It is also desirable that applicants have previous experience of working with Collaborative Ventures (CV) Franchise Partners. In addition it is also preferable to have previous experience of external examining although support and guidance can be provided for those new to this role. Full course details and documentation will be provided to the appointee on appointment.

The appointment will take effect from 1st August 2021 and will be for a four-year term.
