The University of Derby, School of Nursing and Professional Practice is seeking to appoint an external examiner to the above courses. The BSc is a three-year full time programme and the MSc is a full-time two-year course. Students who successfully complete the course are eligible to apply for entry to the NMC register as Registered Nurse: Children`s. The courses contain some modules which are taken with students from the other fields of nursing. The successful candidate will therefore join a team of external examiners for the pre-registration nursing courses and will take responsibility for the BSc and MSc Children’s field modules and a small proportion of the shared modules.
The successful candidate must be Registered Nurse: Children’s and have experience of teaching across pre-registration and postgraduate pre-registration children’s nursing. The successful candidate will be asked to attend approximately 2 academic boards per academic year and meet with students/practice once a year. Whilst external examiner experience is desirable, we welcome expressions of interest from individuals new to this role. The successful candidate will be offered an induction programme and will be supported throughout the duration of their tenure. The term of office for the successful candidate will be for a period of 4 years from September 2019.
For expressions of interest please send a current CV to Trudy Cowan Programme Leader BSc & MSc Children’s Nursing (email@example.com)
