We are seeking to appoint an External Examiner for the BSc (Hons) & MSc Midwifery programmes. These encompass both the 3 year and 2 year [with Advance Standing] programmes for our pre-registration Midwifery Awards. The midwifery programmes at the University of Southampton provide a high quality experience for students both in the academic arena as well as in clinical practice at one of our local NHS Trust partners. Our newly validated and updated programmes [from January 2019] equip students commencing after this date skills in NIPE, enhanced medicines management and infant feeding knowledge and skills rehearsal. Students follow a values based enquiry curriculum and receive opportunities to learn with and from other healthcare professionals in team working and research, for example, so they develop skills in their autonomous midwifery practice.
The post available will be effective from 1st October 2019.
Applicants should hold appropriate academic qualifications; preferably have previous experience of acting in the role as an External Examiner.
