The School of Nursing, Midwifery and Social Work at Canterbury Christ Church University require an External Examiner for our full-time, 3-year, pre-registration BSc (Hons) Nursing (Mental Health) Programme and the second two years of our BSc (Hons) Nursing (Mental Health) Apprenticeship Pathway. The role would involve being the sole External Examiner supporting the Programme Teams to ensure the maintenance of the highest academic standards across a range of level four, five & six modules, across all three years of the programme and final two years of the Apprenticeship Pathway (from September 2022) at level five and level six.

The Programmes were approved to the 2019 NMC Education standards and have one annual intake of approximately 50 & 20 students respectively every September. The role would involve the attendance, or input, at two Semester Module Exam Boards held in Canterbury in March & July for the Programme, with the module board for the Apprenticeship Pathway commencing from August 2022.

The successful applicant will be a Registered Nurse (Mental Health) with a demonstrable academic career in a field Mental Health Nurse education linked to our professional portfolio which involves experience as a subject or programme manager (e.g. Head of Department, Programme Director, Professional Lead).
