The School of Nursing and Midwifery at Queen’s University Belfast is seeking to appoint External Examiners to our Undergraduate and MSc Boards. Experienced External Examiners would be preferred but those seeking a first position and having relevant clinical and educational experience may also be considered. All applicants must be at Senior Lecturer level or above. It is anticipated that the BSc Midwifery Studies (Shortened) position will commence in October 2020 for a period of 4 years while the other two positions are with immediate effect.

Full course details and documentation will be provided to the appointee with an induction at the University on appointment. The post requires external moderation of assessments, completion of an annual monitoring report and attendance at the relevant Board of Examiner meetings (virtual attendance can be facilitated) and in line with NMC requirements, visits to Clinical Practice areas.

The areas of expertise in which we require examiners are as follows:

  • BSc (Hons) Nursing Children’s Nursing and commencing Sept 2020 BSc (Hons) Professional Nursing – Children’s Nursing
  • BSc/Graduate Diploma/Postgraduate Diploma Specialist Practice, BSc Health Studies and PG Diploma/MSc Caring for Children and Young People with Complex Health Needs
  • BSc Midwifery Studies (Shortened)
