The Department of Nursing and Community Health at Glasgow Caledonian University is seeking a replacement external examiner for the current academic year 2019/20 and would welcome expressions of interest from senior academic staff who have experience of managing and assessing students on similar programmes. Experience of external examining would be an advantage, but is not essential. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from those who have expertise in the following areas:

  1. Clinical Assessment and Decision Making
  2. Critical Care Nursing
  3.  Deteriorating Adult Patient
  4. Safe Scrub and Circulating Practice

As an External Examiner for this programme you will be responsible for the external moderation of four modules at SCQF Level 9 and Level 10.

The External Examiner will be required to review programme documentation and coursework throughout the year, attend at assessment boards and submit an annual external examiner report.

The university offers support for newly appointed external assessors by offering a programme of induction and via the programme lead. Tenure of appointments is for a period of four years. All External Examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University.
