The BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy course is looking to appoint a new external examiner from 2014-2015 for a period of four years, due to the end of tenure of one of the current external examiners. We would welcome applications from academics who are involved with pre-registration physiotherapy education and who are on the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy’s list of external examiners.
The post will require external moderation of assessments, attendance at course assessment boards and completion of an annual report. External examiners are also invited to observe some assessments and may wish to visit clinical placement settings in negotiation with the course team.
The physiotherapy programme currently has approximately 40 students per year and the appointed external examiner will be responsible for reviewing year 2 (intermediate) and year 3 (honours) level assessments in line with the University requirements. It is expected that the external examiner will view most of the written work electronically.
