Applications are invited for a part time, fixed term Teaching Fellow with experience of teaching operating department practice to health science students. The successful applicant will have a sound background in operating department practice and will have registered status with the Health & Care Professions Council. Experience in teaching and assessment in the Higher Education sector is an advantage, as is experience in working in a critical care setting.
This is predominantly a teaching position, but participation in scholarly activity and innovation is expected. The successful applicant will be supported in these activities, both within and outside the School and will be expected to contribute to the teaching and supervision of students on relevant undergraduate programmes, such as BN (Hons) Nursing), BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science & MSc Physician Associate.
The successful applicant will contribute specifically to lecturing and delivering practical classes including the use of simulation in part-task training. Applicants should have an Honours degree in an appropriate discipline or equivalent qualifications and clinical experience. Experience in the use of computer-aided learning, directed self-learning, small group work and facilitated problem-based learning would be an advantage, as would the ability to teach some aspects within the broader area of healthcare.
