Contract type: Permanent
Salary: The starting salary will be from £51,799 up to £60,022 per annum in Grade 9, depending on qualifications and experience.

Leeds Trinity University has embarked on the delivery of a strategic ambition to provide a range of Nursing and Allied Health Professions’ programmes to support local, regional, and national workforce demands. As such, we have an exciting opportunity for you to be instrumental in developing and leading a new programme in Biomedical Science. Located within the growing School of Health, Sport & Life Sciences (HSLS), this post will form part of a leadership group for Health and Life Sciences subjects.

The initial focus will be on providing an undergraduate degree programme, co-created alongside a range of other relevant Allied Health Professions and Life Sciences’ curricula. Furthermore, given the breadth of Biomedical Science, there will be an opportunity to shape the foci of the new programme(s). This is an exciting time for Leeds Trinity University and this role will play a key part in these developments in Health and Life Sciences.

The role will require you to engage and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders to develop a programme that aims to drive the widening participation agenda at Leeds Trinity University, delivering ambitious, competent, confident and effective professionals into graduate employment or research.

The School is well-equipped with a range of sport and exercise science laboratory, clinical and practical spaces – as such there are opportunities for sharing expertise and facilities (e.g., in relation to Physiology). Coupled with new facilities for Health and Life Sciences that you can contribute to shaping, this will create an excellent teaching and research environment for Biomedical Science students and staff.

As an experienced Biomedical Scientist practitioner and educator, and member of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), you will have experience of developing, establishing and leading innovative curriculum, and of working closely with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS). You will have extensive experience of teaching in higher education and ideally of programme management. You will be expected to contribute to teaching on the programme, as well as engage in research/knowledge exchange and/or professional practice commensurate with the post to which you are appointed.

You will be educated to at least Masters level, preferably having completed or soon to submit a PhD (or equivalent qualification or practice-based experience/qualification). You will also have, or be willing to undertake, a recognised teaching qualification (i.e., PGCHEP/PGCAP) as well as Senior Fellowship of Advance HE.

Informal enquiries may be addressed to Dr Chris Sellars, Head of School: Health, Sport and Life Sciences at c.sellars@leedstrinity.ac.uk.

Please note that this post may be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
