Background
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced and qualified midwife to join our Division of Midwifery and Radiography as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Health and Psychological Sciences at City, University of London. We are focused on developing highly competent midwifery practitioners who are equipped to be future healthcare leaders. Our teaching is evidence-based and informed by real-world practice.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will provide high-quality education at undergraduate and postgraduate level and demonstrate successful and innovative educational practice. They will also engage with research activity related to midwifery or pedagogical practice. Candidates will draw on their experience of higher education to provide academic leadership, expertise, and innovative midwifery education and research practice. We are particularly looking for candidates who can provide leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of our new Bachelor of Midwifery programme, which commenced September 2023, and contribute to the successful delivery of our BSc Midwifery programme.

Person Specification
Candidates will be educated to Masters level, preferably have a PhD, and be registered with the NMC as a midwife. They will have recent and relevant experience of midwifery education and practice, an outstanding track record of teaching and facilitating learning, and be recognised as an authority in their subject area. Candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, consistently take a student-centred approach, and demonstrate an ability to work in a collegiate and interdisciplinary setting appropriate for academic work.
