The University of Chichester is a dynamic, supportive and ambitious institution with a great reputation for providing staff and students alike with the opportunity to achieve excellence within a simulating and supportive environment. We are seeking a Registered Adult Nurse for a substantive Senior Lecturer role to join our innovative and enthusiastic team; this is an exciting opportunity to help grow and shape the future of our Nursing and Allied Health workforce in West Sussex within a well-resourced and digitally orientated facility.

Our Pre-Registration Adult Nursing courses are highly commended by the NMC for academic quality, innovation and close relationships to healthcare and wider sectors in which our graduates will work. This includes our recently unconditionally validated Post-Graduate Diploma/MSc Adult Nursing (pre-registration). We are seeking an experienced Nurse Academic to become a programme leader for this inaugural Post-Graduate Diploma/MSc Adult Nursing Course. You will have knowledge, experience and skills to lead a pre-registration Nursing curriculum, contribute to our evolving research strategy and enable contemporary contribution within the field of acute care practice. You will need to be a current nurse registrant (RN/Adult or RGN) with the Nursing Midwifery Council, have demonstrable expertise in innovative, effective and inspirational teaching and learning with students, have a postgraduate qualification in teaching or be prepared to undertake one.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have a deep appreciation of person-centred nursing practice in the acute care field, experience of simulation based education, demonstrate emotional intelligence and enjoy working as a team. We aim to ensure that we equip our graduates with a high quality education that enables them to succeed as a Registered Adult Nurse upon graduation and our curricula focus on person-centred care, caring science and developing digital acumen. As such, we not only focus on the acquisition of technical knowledge, but also on vital transferable skills and compassionate, professional practices.

Informal enquiries are welcomed by: Dr Nita Muir, at N.Muir@chi.ac.uk.

The University of Chichester embraces all forms of diversity and aspires to be a fully inclusive and representative employer and so we encourage applications from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic people.

This position requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) Check, which will be undertaken by the University on appointment.
