We are delighted to be launching a joint venture with local NHS Trusts and the Sussex Integrated Care Board (Sussex Health and Care) to establish a Community Diagnostics Centre on our campus in Bognor Regis. This is a unique opportunity to drive forward a truly exciting and innovative joint University/NHS initiative that is intended to become a template for future such collaborations. These new positions contribute to an extremely exciting venture for both the University and the whole local area.

We are seeking outstanding applicants who have a shared ambition to create something very new and help achieve the University’s vision to offer high quality, pioneering programmes with a strong vocational focus. Working together as a team that brings together expertise in medical diagnostics, biomedical science, computing, image analysis and health psychology, the post holders will lead on the rapid development of the University’s provision in this area introducing undergraduate (including foundation year), postgraduate and degree apprenticeship programmes as quickly as possible. Subject areas that the University is intending to launch will include Biomedical Science, Diagnostic Radiography, Mammography and Data Science. More widely, the new team will also lead on identifying NHS workforce development opportunities, securing relevant professional body accreditation, and developing research/innovation opportunities.

Successful candidates will work within the team to strengthen the distinctiveness of the University’s student experience as high-quality, personalised, accessible and aspirational. We aim to ensure that we equip our graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace upon graduation and throughout their professional careers. As such, we not only focus on the acquisition of technical knowledge, but also on vital transferable skills and professional practices.

Candidates with established research profiles in line with the seniority of the posts on offer are preferred. You will be expected to either continue with an established research topic compatible with the applicable Institute’s interests, or establish a new research area in collaboration with Institute/wider University colleagues. Our research inspires, and feeds directly into, our teaching programmes, ensuring that all of our students benefit from exposure to the latest developments.

Applications to work part-time are welcomed, especially where applicants wish to retain elements of professional practice.
