Are you an experienced registered Adult Nurse looking to start or continue an academic career at the University of Plymouth, base at either Plymouth or Truro, in the beautiful Southwest of England?

About the role

We are looking to appoint appropriately qualified and experienced Nurses to join the well-established team of nursing lecturers at the University of Plymouth. We have opportunities at both our Plymouth and Truro campuses, in Devon and Cornwall. You will be an NMC registered Adult Nurse, preferably with a background in community and, or primary care. You will contribute to teaching excellence related to nursing care and contribute to the academic and clinical development of Adult Nursing at the University. This will include the development and delivery of foundation degree, undergraduate and postgraduate healthcare programmes. You will also be encouraged to contribute to research within the school and join an appropriate research group.

We offer foundation degree, undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD programmes. Research in the School was rated highly in the REF2021 and continues to grow. The University of Plymouth Clinical Schools initiative is an exciting development, through which applied nursing and midwifery research focuses on topics that are timely and relevant to advancing the quality of care.

What we’re looking for

You should possess appropriate professional qualifications; NMC registration as an Adult Nurse and an honours degree in health, or related subject, is essential. You should have at least three years post registration clinical experience, and preferably have, or be willing to work towards a relevant postgraduate qualification and a teaching qualification.

We will consider requests for full time, part time or job shares. Whilst the successful Plymouth-based candidate/s will be based on the Plymouth campus, successful Truro site candidate/s will be required to occasionally travel to the main campus in Plymouth.

The successful candidates may be required to obtain an ATAS Certificate prior to this research being undertaken.

For these roles, you will need to be on site 3 days a week. Although we can accommodate hybrid working, flexibility to be on-site will be expected depending on business needs.

These roles will require an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check plus a Adult’s Barred List check.
