The School of Pharmacy and Life Sciences at RGU is looking to appoint Lecturers in Clinical Practice to support the delivery of pharmacy courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels including our highly regarded Master of Pharmacy (MPharm), MSc Clinical Pharmacy Practice, MSc Advanced Pharmacy Practice, and Independent Prescribing course. These are permanent positions open to applicants from various clinical backgrounds, including pharmacy, nursing, medical and physiotherapy.

You will be passionate about enhancing the student experience and committed to integrating practice into academia. Teaching is delivered both on-campus and online and you will be expected to take the lead on developing and delivering content for students. You will be expected to be able to work flexibly and responsively with regards to team and workload requirements and show a commitment to engage in scholarly activity, for personal and professional development.

Although advertised as full-time posts, and in keeping with RGU’s commitment to work/life balance, we will consider applicants from a healthcare background who would be interested in retaining a commitment to ‘real life’ practice. This may include for example secondments, shared posts, and part-time working. We would be very interested in discussing innovative models for this role and working with external partners to offer flexibility.

You will also have the opportunity to work from home for a portion of the working week, but you must be able to deliver teaching on campus to meet course requirements. You will benefit from a generous pension scheme, 46 days annual leave (including statutory holidays and Christmas closure), an onsite nursery and sports centre, as well as a range of voluntary health and travel benefits.

This post is subject to the individual being required to join the PVG scheme. For more information visit: https://www.mygov.scot/pvg-scheme/

We understand that any career move is a big decision, but particularly if you are changing direction. For that reason we would like to have an informal discussion with any interested applicants and if you then wish to submit a formal application, we will provide you with a link to do so. Please contact both Lindsey Taylor (Principal Lecturer), email: l.taylor@rgu.ac.uk and Dr Amy Arnold (Principal Lecturer) email: a.arnold1@rgu.ac.uk to arrange an informal discussion.

Please direct all communication to both Lindsey and Amy to ensure the quickest response to your enquiry.
Interviews will take place on 11th November 2024.
