This is an exciting opportunity for an exceptional and experienced children’s nurse, or a career move for an established children’s nursing academic, with evidence of excellent professional and educational practice to join a team of enthusiastic and committed staff within the Three Counties School of Nursing and Midwifery.
The post holder will work closely with university and practice colleagues to develop the discipline of children’s nursing, with a strong emphasis on the health and well-being of children, young people and their families. The post holder will be a reflective practitioner, committed to promoting evidence based best practice that underpins critical thinking, leadership, clinical decision-making, and problem-solving skills. Our desire as an academic community is to develop critical, competent and compassionate practitioners who can make a positive contribution to and impact upon nursing practice.
By providing expert knowledge, the post holder will be expected to teach and lead agreed modules, assess students, supervise undergraduate dissertations, engage in curriculum development and participate in the wider scholarly, academic and administrative activities of the School. Staff within the School contribute to all of our NMC approved courses and it is essential that the appointee is able to adopt a flexible approach to the subjects they teach.
New appointees are supported by a knowledgeable team, to develop their new role with access to a team buddy, mentor and staff development courses.
