The School of Allied Health and Social Care is seeking to appoint a permanent full-time Programme Leader (Lecturer/Senior Lecturer) post to lead on the BA programme. You will be part of our highly dedicated team of social work lecturers delivering on our successful BA, MA and Post Qualifying Social Work programmes. Social work at the University of Derby has national recognition for high quality teaching and student satisfaction and excellent partnerships with employers and placement providers. The social work programmes have a strong emphasis on social work values and ethics and seeks to develop and build on student’s passion for social work, intellectual understanding and personal insight and integrity. We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic applicant who despite the challenging times is able to think outside the box and offer exciting new ideas through a futuristic social work lense.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop an exciting, innovative and research informed curriculum, delivering high quality teaching across a range of social work subjects. You will have excellent organisational and communication skills and will be expected to contribute to course management and academic administrative duties. You will have a strong commitment to continuing professional development and to interprofessional and international social work perspectives.

The school of Allied Health and Social Care has strong partnerships with employers and placement providers from a range of sectors including education, Local Authority, social services, and the independent, voluntary and the private sectors. We have a commitment to internationalisation, and strong links with global partners, both within universities and practice settings.
