We are recruiting for a full-time Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (level depending on experience) to join our new Diagnostic Radiography course, which is part of the School of Sport and Health Sciences.
The Diagnostic Radiography programmes are newly validated, and will include a BSc, an apprenticeship and MSc pre-registration, therefore this is an exciting time to join a dynamic team of staff. Students on these degrees experience varied practical and theoretical modes of learning which are reflected in creative and innovative methods of teaching and lecture delivery.
Our philosophy is to work in partnership with students, academics, researchers, service users and service colleagues to deliver high quality learning and teaching based on contemporary research findings and practice. In addition to which, our lecturers provide pastoral care, using listening and interpersonal skills to appreciate the needs of individual students and their circumstances, and to refer students as appropriate to the specialist services which can provide further help. In order to be successful in this role, you should bring with you:
- A Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer
- Experience of educating student diagnostic radiographers in practice.
- An understanding of principles of learning and teaching in higher education would be desirable.
- The ability to contribute to core areas of the radiography curriculum in a research informed manner.
If you have a PhD or Doctorate and can supervise at this level, you will have opportunities to develop as the university has an active programme for supporting early career researchers.
For informal enquiries please contact Sarah Lewis-Tulett, s.lewis-tulett@brighton.ac.uk, Associate Dean (Education & Student Experience)
You will be based at our Falmer campus site, and travel to other university sites will also be required.
This role is eligible for applications from job sharers.
It is planned that interviews will take place on Friday 11 March 2022.
