The College of Health, Psychology & Social Care upholds the overall mission of the University of Derby by providing high quality, accessible learning opportunities which equip students with the skills and qualities for employment and to build successful and fulfilling careers, promoting academic enquiry and the advancement of knowledge, using a variety of methods of delivery. We are committed to widening participation and have an excellent record of meeting the needs of local stakeholders. Service user and carer involvement in programme development and delivery is an increasingly important aspect of our work.
We are excited to be able to offer a post for a Lecturer or Senior lecturer in Diagnostic Imaging to join a team of enthusiastic, committed and friendly staff who deliver innovative teaching across our portfolio of Diagnostic Imaging programmes. This will include the BSc and MSc Diagnostic Radiography (pre-registration) and also our newly validated and College of Radiographers approved BSc degree apprenticeship in Diagnostic Radiography (top-up) programme. It is an exciting time to join this developing team to help shape Radiography education within the University of Derby as both our BSc and MSc Diagnostic Radiography programmes move through revalidation. You will be able to join the team at a time where the new programme curriculum is being developed and you will be key in helping to develop this new curriculum.
You will work collaboratively with the Diagnostic Radiography team to deliver high quality and innovative teaching and will support development of practical skills using our suite of Radiography equipment and facilities. The post will be based within the Diagnostic imaging, Operating Department Practice and Osteopathy discipline, however, teaching and support may span across the College of Health, Psychology and Social Care. The successful candidate will be required to work with colleagues within the discipline area and the wider college to deliver exceptional teaching and learning.
You will contribute to enhancing the quality of Diagnostic Radiography education, as well as taking forward the research and scholarship agenda. It is extremely important that you not only understand the student experience, but that you enjoy making a positive impact for students across their learning journey and the wider community in which we are situated.
