Can you provide a stimulating learning experience, motivating and inspiring students to become critical thinkers and high-quality professionals?

We are looking to recruit a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer with up-to-date, sound knowledge of current developments in advanced clinical practice including current clinical, professional and policy developments. This is an exciting opportunity to join a vibrant team of academics dedicated to the learning and teaching of advanced practitioners. You will join our clinical practice programmes (Graduate Certificate/Postgraduate Certificate Clinical Practice and MSc Advanced Clinical Practice).

Our courses are focused on preparing students with knowledge, skills, innovation and vision for advanced careers in contemporary health care services. You will have the opportunity to take part in supporting students in both theory and practice. A fundamental part of the role is collaborating with colleagues across the School with interests in advanced practice to develop research opportunities. In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A good (1 or 2:1) Health professionals’ degree, with Nursing and Midwifery Council/Health and Care Professions Councils.
  • A postgraduate qualification/PhD or an equivalent level of professional experience.
  • A current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council or the Health and Care Professions Council.
  • Experience in advanced practice, ideally with advanced knowledge and expertise in physical assessment, clinical decision making, managing case complexity and experience of OSCE (Objective Structured Clinical Examination) assessment practices.
  • A Higher Education teaching qualification and/or a HEA Fellowship is required, or will need to be achieved within the first 12 months.

If you have a Doctorate and can supervise at this level, you will have opportunities to develop as the university has an active programme for supporting early career researchers. Travel to other university sites will also be required.
