Job description
The Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery & Palliative Care, a world-leading centre for research, education, and training seeks to hire two Lecturers in Nursing Education (Academic Education Pathway) or/and Lecturers (Education & Research). This is a fixed-term contract for a period of five years starting in late Autumn 2023 or as soon as possible thereafter. The posts will contribute to adult nursing with a particular focus on pre-registration adult nursing and will include teaching, assessment, pastoral support and educational development initiatives. There may also be opportunities to contribute to our International Partnership with Ngee Ann Academy in Singapore.

As an Academic Education Pathway (AEP) Lecturer, the successful candidates would be expected to have a particular focus on education and teaching in their role. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated educator who can make a distinctive contribution, bridging theory and practice, and inspiring and informing students from a wide range of international backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from those with nursing knowledge and expertise in the areas of complex care, physical assessment, leadership, legal and ethical issues, cancer care, HIV care and research methods. As an Education & Research Lecturer (E&R), the successful candidates would be expected to win high quality peer reviewed research funding, conduct research at internationally excellent and world-leading levels to be published in major academic journals, and deliver inspiring undergraduate and postgraduate education in their fields and of relevance to the Faculty.

The successful candidates will hold a PhD (E&R) or MSc (minimum for AEP) or equivalent in Nursing or a closely related discipline, with an excellent knowledge and understanding of a relevant field of expertise. They will be a highly effective educators, with experience of teaching and assessment in Higher Education, a commitment to student learning and welfare, and an aptitude for working within an interdisciplinary framework.
