The University of Stirling Health Sciences Division is a world leader in multidisciplinary translational research and education, translating research findings into evidence-based practice focussed on improving health and social care practice at both a national and international level.

We have invested in a number of new opportunities to join the Faculty at a really exciting time for the University. All jobs will be offered on either a teaching and scholarship or teaching and research basis.

We are recognised as a leading provider of research-based health and social care education, offering a variety of cutting-edge undergraduate, postgraduate and clinical doctorate programmes.

We have an excellent external reputation for the quality of our teaching provision and for our graduates. We pride ourselves in producing high-calibre healthcare practitioners for the workforce in Scotland and beyond.

Our research quality has been ranked as top in Scotland for the last two REF exercises, and in REF 2014, 90% of research outputs were ranked as being of international significance and our environment was ranked as 100% 4*. The faculty also encompasses two research groups allowing opportunities for cross-group collaboration.

We are looking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic nurse who has clinical care experience. They will contribute to our BSc Nursing, BSc Professional Practice, BSc Paramedic Science and Postgraduate Programmes and help build on our success to deliver the University’s strategic plan. The successful candidate will possess extensive nursing experience, have an active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and ideally a recognised teaching qualification. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a proven track record in nursing leadership, policy and staff development. Experience of supervising, supporting and assessing students in practice learning environments is also required. The successful applicant will work with existing Faculty groups to deliver excellence in teaching to all of our programmes. The post will be advertised as T&S or T&R. Candidates applying for a T&S role will be expected to undertake pedagogical research and scholarly activity which aligns to the strategic direction of the Faculty and University. Candidates applying for a T&R role will have a PhD, experience supervising at Clinical Doctorate/PhD level and will be expected to undertake research activity leading to funding proposals and high-quality outputs.
