We are at an exciting point at the OU as we continue to drive Nursing forward as a Centre of Excellence. Following continued growth and substantial investment in our nursing provision an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced lecturer to join our dynamic team of academics delivering excellent and visionary nursing and trainee nursing associate programmes.

We are looking to appoint a lecturer from any of the fields of nursing on a Fixed Term contract for a period of 12 months.

The successful applicant will contribute to teaching on a range of modules across our nursing programmes, including pre-registration nursing, registered nurse degree apprentice and trainee nursing associate programmes. They will be required to work closely with a range of academics and researchers and other professionals across the School of Health Wellbeing and Social Care.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate excellent oral and written competencies and interpersonal skills. They should have teaching experience within higher education or an education role and a minimum of a Master’s degree with a relevant existing or developing research profile. Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) (and eligible for ongoing registration) is essential.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking School, driving innovation and change in the training and research capabilities for our students, our staff and importantly for the people we serve. This post is part of a range of increased investment into Nursing to drive forwards partnerships, new ways of working, standards, recruitment & retention and for the University to work closely with employers and clinical staff in the development and implementation of education, research & knowledge exchange.
