Are you looking to join a highly motivated team developing and leading the delivery of the open access BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science programme from our Lancaster campus?
Over recent years Allied Health curricula (inclusive of Paramedicine) has diversified to include a broader range of subject areas. This includes an increased emphasis on biology, sociology, public health and research informed practice. In support of this, we are open to applications from individuals who feel they can contribute towards providing a high quality, research informed education to our students. We are seeking applications from individuals from within and outside the paramedic profession.
The University of Cumbria has extensive experience in delivering high quality paramedic education across the UK. The successful candidate will join the Centre of Excellence in Paramedic Practice (CEPP) which is the UK’s largest provider of paramedic education. The CEPP portfolio includes our CPD programmes which has over 1700 students currently active nationally and internationally. We also deliver a Degree Apprenticeship programme working in partnership with 6 Ambulance Service Trusts, supporting the development of their workforce to become paramedic registrants.
You will develop positive working relationships with NHS Trusts and other organisations. The University has previously been shortlisted for the Times Higher Education Outstanding Employer Engagement Award and this is reflected through the collaborative working with several organisations. You will demonstrate enthusiasm for practice-based education and their specialty, and have a willingness to utilise a range of e-learning technologies and other strategies in order to affect the provision of high-quality learning opportunities and the best possible student experience.
The University is committed to nurturing an environment where its employees, students and visitors are treated fairly and with respect at all times. We recognise that if we provide a fully inclusive working and studying environment, we will enable everyone to perform to the best of their ability. Recognising, embracing and valuing difference will lead to improvements for everyone, including:
- A more diverse staff and student population;
- A better working and studying environment;
- Attracting and retaining the very best staff and students.
This role will play a crucial part in changing the shape of paramedic education within the UK and we are looking for someone that is willing to be creative and innovate. The CEPP is also committed to ensuring that all provision is delivered from a position of inclusivity. Inclusion is one of the key fundamental values that a successful applicant must demonstrate. Leading cultural change and challenging the current disparities within the paramedic profession will form a key part of this role.
The University offers an attractive benefits package including 35 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays, 25 research and scholarly activity days, support for professional development, support to achieve Higher Education Academy/Advance HE accreditation.
