The Role

This 2 year fixed term Health Education England funded role sits within the School of Biomedical, Nutritional and Sport Sciences (BNS), part of our Faculty of Medical Sciences who deliver world leading innovation and excellence in teaching and research.

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Dietetic Practice (1.0 FTE) to support the expansion of our Dietetics placement provision. This post is in partnership with Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals (NuTH) Trust, and will provide an alternative environment for their placement students to develop the skills for competent dietetic practice.

This innovative post will support the development and delivery of student-led nutrition and dietetic on campus clinics, workshops and events to the staff and student community at Newcastle University. In addition, you will scope and develop public health and residential/care home setting placement opportunities, and provide long-arm supervision to students allocated to these settings.

We are seeking a dietitian who shares our vision to broaden the dietetic placement experience. You should have broad clinical knowledge, be skilled in working to improve the nutritional health and wellbeing of groups and communities, and have significant experience as a practice educator. The ability to secure an honorary clinical contract with NuTH will be an expectation for the post.

This post may be available as a secondment, or as a term-time contract.
