Due to the ongoing success and growth of our Public Health courses and the launch of our new Public Health Practitioner Apprenticeship, the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health is seeking to recruit Hourly Paid Lecturers for delivery of undergraduate modules.

The current module portfolio for the BSc Public Health and Public Health Practitioner Apprenticeship includes the following subject areas and we are seeking HPLs with expertise in one or more of these subject areas:

• Personal and professional skills development
• Communication in public health
• Health systems
• Research methods
• Understanding and using health research
• Public health interventions and evaluation
• Epidemiology
• Health protection
• Public health policy
• Health promotion
• Leadership and management
• Contemporary issues in public health
• Globilisation and sustainable health financing
• Implementing health service interventions and evaluation
We are particularly looking for candidates who can support sustainable health financing, and implementing health service interventions and evaluations.

Grade 6 applies for HPLs delivering workshops/tutorials and using prepared materials.
Grade 7 applies for HPLs delivering their own material.

Both grades will involve marking assignments.

HPLs can work up to 200 hours per year.

Applicants must have a relevant master’s degree or higher in an appropriate subject and ideally experience of teaching and supporting students within a UK higher education setting. We would welcome applications from candidates with field experience of working within a Public Health Team and/or managing public health projects in the UK or internationally.
