About the role

AECC University College is looking to appoint a Head of Practice Learning to lead our practice learning and simulation strategy and operation across the institution. In the role you will be the primary contact for our practice placement partners and central to maintaining a positive working relationship with existing health and care placement provider partners. As we expand our provision and partnerships, you will help develop new relationships for both practice learning and simulation-based education.

This is a new and exciting role working across the organisation leading the development and provision of practice learning and simulation-based education across the three schools and will include:

  • Working closely with course placement leads and placement administrator overseeing the placement management process with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leading the strategic development of simulation-based-education across the University College, implementing and maintaining the standards for simulation-based education and optimising opportunities for interprofessional education across the organisation.

About the person

You will be an experienced healthcare professional in an allied health, nursing or chiropractic with current registration with the relevant body. You will be a motivated individual with strong record of, and passion for, supporting and engaging with practice. You will have previous experience of establishing placements for HE providers and Simulation based education experience in clinical or educational settings.

We are looking for a self-starter, though team-focused, with a flexible approach and excellent communication skills, with demonstrable experience of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

You will possess excellent communication skills and an ability to quickly establish effective relationships with people from a range of backgrounds. The role requires you to have an ability to adapt and work flexibly to meet the demands of higher education and support an excellent student experience.
