Salary Range:

The School of Allied Health and Community at the University of Worcester is seeking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified senior academic to act as an External Panel Member for the Periodic Review of Iron Mill College, a partner organisation of the University that delivers a Foundation Degree and Top-Up Degree in Integrative Counselling. Partnerships are normally approved for a period of six years and operate under the terms of a Partnership Agreement. Partnership Periodic Review (PPR) aims to explore and to provide assurance that a partnership is operating in accordance with the terms of the Partnership Agreement, meets the due diligence requirements, fully appraises the management of the student experience and the courses delivered through the Partnership and is an arrangement to be recommended for continuation.

The event is due to take place in early April 2025 and will be held on-line (date to be confirmed).

We are looking for an external panel member who:
• holds a relevant senior position in HE, normally in a management capacity, such as Head or Assistant Head of Department.
• has experience of internal validation/approval and/or review processes.
• has experience of academic partnership arrangements for programme delivery.
• Experience of HE counselling programmes also desirable.

In addition, external panel member should not usually have (or have had within the last 5 years) any professional relationship with the University of Worcester (or our partner institutions) or staff involved in the courses undergoing reapproval.

In line with the University’s scheme of fees, the external panel member payment will be £250. Documentation for the review will be distributed 3 weeks before the review. The external panel member is asked to prepare in advance by scrutinising the documents and highlighting any issues for further exploration at the meeting.

All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria for appointment. Applications are by submission of CV.
