BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy and MSc Physiotherapy

We are seeking two External Examiners for our BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy and MSc Physiotherapy programmes.

The Physiotherapy programmes at the University of Southampton provide a high-quality undergraduate experience for students leading to professional registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

External Examiners are typically appointed for a period of four years. Principle duties normally include:

  • Visit the University at the least once a year to moderate assessed coursework and examination scripts, attend Board of Examiners meeting (may be virtual)
  • Produce an Annual Report
  • Review and approve examination papers that contribute to a student’s final award, and any other assessment material as agreed

This post will be with effect from 1 October 2021.

Applicants should hold appropriate academic qualifications; preferably have previous experience of acting in the role as an External Examiner and have a background in a range of health or health-related research methods. Fees and Expenses are payable in line with the University’s External Examiners policy.
