We are seeking to appoint individuals who have a minimum of a BSc in a paramedic or out of hospital related subject; with a strong knowledge and relevant experience in the field of out of hospital education. Applicants will have current registration with the the HCPC and be working within a Higher Education Institution, whether full or part time.

The tenure of the appointment is for 4 years. The successful applicant must have relevant experience of working in the paramedic arena, teaching on a paramedic or out of hospital programme, and working in a relevant role either out of hospital or within a hospital setting. They will review a number of modules within the programmes which will include modules delivered at levels 4, 5, and 6 . An induction will be provided that the appointee will be expected to attend. Previous experience of external examining would be welcomed, but is not essential.

The External Examiner will be invited to attend the programme assessment boards, review student work, and be asked to consider changes to assessment processes as part of course development.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced academic staff. All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria for appointment.

The Centre for Allied Health utilises Canvas for marking. OSPE’s and OSCE’s are recorded, and External Examiners on the pre-registration programme will be asked to review video’s of student assessments as part of the role.

This is an exciting time to join our friendly pre-registration team, with a revalidation underway for 2022. The team are friendly, and like to fully involve the EE’s in the development of the programme, modules, simulation and assessments.
