The School of Nursing and Midwifery at Queen’s University Belfast is seeking to appoint a number of External Examiners to the pre-registration nursing programmes in both adult nursing and mental health nursing. Experienced External Examiners would be preferred but those seeking a first position and having relevant clinical and educational experience may also be considered. All applicants must be at Senior Lecturer level or above. It is anticipated that you would commence in October 2022 for a period of 4 years.
Full course details and documentation will be provided to the appointee with an induction on appointment. The post requires external moderation of assessments, completion of an annual monitoring report and attendance at the relevant Board of Examiner meetings and in line with NMC requirements, visits to meet with students in Clinical Practice areas. Board of Examiner meetings are currently held virtually.
The areas of expertise in which we require examiners are as follows:
- BSc Professional Nursing, Adult Nursing – two external examiners required
- BSc Professional Nursing, Mental Health Nursing and MSc Professional Nursing, Mental Health Nursing – one external examiner for both programmes
