We are seeking to appoint an external examiner for our Mental Health Nursing programmes. On completion students are eligible for registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse.
External examiners will be required to contribute to the assessment process, externally moderate and report on student work, visit practice placements if required, attend Course Assessment Boards, and submit an annual report.
Appointees will have relevant field related experience, academic qualifications to post graduate level, including a recordable teaching qualification and will be registered with the NMC. Previous experience as an external examiner would be an advantage but not essential. The existing external examiner for these programmes remains in post until September 2023 and as such could offer mentorship to anyone appointed who was new to external examiner posts. An induction programme is provided for External Examiners, and ongoing support is also offered by the dedicated Assessment Lead for Nursing.
The post would commence in September 2023. All appointments are for a period of four years.
