The Academic Teaching Department of Physiotherapy within the School of Population Health and Environmental Sciences of the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine, King’s College London, is seeking to appoint external examiners from September 2021 for our BSc Physiotherapy programme. Following extensive stakeholder engagement and in co-production with students we are excited to be launching our new innovative and contemporary curriculum from September 2021.
We welcome expressions of interest from academics committed to supporting teaching, learning and assessment processes and acting as a critical friend to the Department. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from those with experience in the management of excellent pre-registration undergraduate physiotherapy education, quality assurance processes and contemporary evidence-based practice.

The role of External Examiner is to assure the quality of awards with respect to national standards. Key duties include:
- Advising boards of examiners on the content and standard of assessment
- Moderating samples of exam scripts and other assessed materials
- Attending boards of examiners to approve awards and degree classifications
- Advising on academic misconduct and appeal cases
- Submitting an annual report to the College Principal
