An exciting opportunity has arisen for an External Examiner appointment for one year at The University of Northampton. The role is for our Postgraduate Diploma and Graduate Diploma in Educational Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP).
The Educational Mental Health Practitioner course is one of the Low Intensity Psychological Therapies programmes developed in direct response to the governments green paper (2017). The courses nationally are in the process of being accredited by the BPS and students that complete these courses are recognised as EMHP’s, allowing them to gain registration through the BABCP and/or BPS.
We require an External Examiner to review our current cohort that started September 2024. The course adheres to a national curriculum set by NHS England, which states compulsory and guided assessments overview, module content and clinical and supervisory hours.
We are looking for someone:
- who is suitably qualified with expertise in the above areas, ideally a Programme Leader or Senior Lecturer on similar programmes.
- previous experience as an external examiner is preferred, but not essential
The appointment will be for the academic year 2024-2025 EMHP, with immediate start and ending on the 30 September 2025.
