We are seeking one replacement external examiner from October 2022 for the Post Graduate Certificate: Leading Practice Education https://www.brighton.ac.uk/courses/study/leading-practice-education-pgcert.aspx which also offers a UKPSF HEA Fellowship (D2) award.

The University of Brighton offers support for external examiners with annual workshops. The University normally expects external examiners to attend a minimum of one examination board per year. The course is a recently reviewed and flourishing, and offers an interesting and collaborative opportunity for an interested academic.

Applicants are advised that the University applies the following criteria for this appointment:

  • The area of expertise of external examiners is within the area of examinations undertaken, in this case clinical education;
  • Applicants should have recently been employed (or are still employed) within a university appointment;
  • They must not have been a University of Brighton examiner within the last five years;
  • They will be registered with the HEA at a minimum of a D2 Fellow.

The PGCert is an inter-professional course and consists of three modules delivered over a 12-month period. This course appeals to registered health care or social care practitioners who have either an educational role in their current practice or are looking to develop into one.

Commencement date October 2022 for a period of 4 years
