The Department of Nursing and Community Health is seeking to appoint an external examiner for the following programme:

  • PgD Advancing District Nursing Practice with Specialist Practitioner Qualification programme

This is a post-qualification programme that offers both part-time and full-time routes. The programme is offered at SQA level 11 and the programme is open to nurses currently employed and supported by our Practice Partners in community nursing teams across NHS GG&C and NHS Forth Valley.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified academic staff that will have experience in managing and assessing students on similar programmes. Experience of external examining would be an advantage but is not essential. As an External Examiner, you will be responsible for the external moderation of a range of modules within the District Nursing programme; and will be invited to review a selection of scripts and comment on assessment content. You would be expected to attend two Assessment Boards and submit a written report each year.

The period of tenure is for four years and will commence in September 2022.

All External Examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University. The University offers support for newly appointed external assessors.
